Dr Liam Johnson is Australian and internationally trained Adult & Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgeon in Brisbane. He has a special interest in hip and knee conditions, sports and general trauma, fractures and neuromuscular conditions.
Liam completed his Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery at the University of Queensland, graduating in 2006. After receiving his Fellowship from the Royal Australian College of Surgeons in 2016, Liam joined the team at Queensland Children’s Hospital, South Brisbane. In 2018, to further his paediatric knowledge and skills, Dr Johnson travelled to Vancouver to attain a Paediatric Fellowship at BC Children’s Hospital. In addition to his surgical training, Liam also obtained an MBA from Deakin University.
Dr Johnson is passionate about education and is currently part of the Orthopaedic Research team at Queensland Children’s Hospital. In conjunction with this, Liam is involved in the international registries for developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH) and slipped capital femoral epiphysis (SCFE). Locally, he was part of the group that established the paediatric ACL registry.
Liam is a strong communicator and listener. He prides himself on his quality of care and ensures he meets his patient’s needs through his timely correspondence, great bedside manner and commitment to his patients and their practitioners.
When Liam isn’t working he enjoys spending time with his family and trying to stay fit so he can keep up with his three energetic children!
